This charming property has vast groves of olive trees that surround it in every direction, and will impress its guests with stunning views. Every window boasts an incomparable view of the surrounding landscape. From the garden you will enjoy views of the gentle rolling hills that lead to the ancient towers of San Gimignano.
The silver-grey of the olives blends with the dark green of cypresses, creating a spectacular show of colours. The guests are free to stroll through the olive groves and adjacent vineyards, and sample the Chianti wines and olive oil produced by the family-owned farm. The farm organises wine tastings free of charge in the nearby wine cellar, and the recently awarded supertuscan wine is excellent.
The property is made of three buildings: the detached COUNTRYHOUSE (sleeps 6 + 1) , the Villa with tower of the property owner in the middle and adjecting to it a FARMHOUSE transformed into four apartments on the right (sleeps 15)
This property is perfect to sleep a total of 22 people and organize in the grounds of its enchanting gardens romantic wedding receptions up to 40 people. Food is organized through a catering service. Symbolic and protestant ceremonies are possible if hiring the whole property exclusively. Minimum required stay: 1 week.
You may organize a romantic civil cereremony recognized both in Italy and your country in the beautiful Palazzo Pretorio located in Certaldo, a stunning Medieval Castle located in the heart of town. The ceremony takes place outdoors in an impressive courtyard…
You may also consider a Roman Catholic ceremony in the Pieve of S. Lazzaro a Lucardo, located few minutes drive from the country-house.
The COUNTRYHOUSE with sun pouring in through the French windows, its pastel colours and stunning views is a the perfect place for an unforgettable vacation. The large terrace is wonderful for al fresco dining, and every day the sunset is the very special event. A private path leads to a magnificent Mediterranean style swimming pool with roman steps.
The pool is conjointly used with the guests of the Villa section. On return from a day out, you can relax here enjoying the nature and the peace of the estate. It is perfect for wiling away late summer afternoons with a favourite novel and you will admire a wonderful rural panorama. The COUNTRYHOUSE looks out onto the panoramic valley to south-west. Once the former barn of the estate, it was fully restored in the year 2004 and transformed into a typical country house. The house develops over two floors and is equipped with all the necessary modern comfort. (Amenities include air conditioning, although you’ll rarely need it, as the hilltop location allows for maximum circulation of Tuscan breezes). This house is an atmospheric ambience designed with loving care for details.
Ground floor:
1 large living room with piano, fireplace, kitchen area and dining area (there are four exits to two outdoor areas just in front of the house – one facing south, the other facing north), 1 bathroom with shower.
Upper floor:
3 double bedrooms (one of the double beds cannot be transformed to twin beds), 3 bathrooms with shower.
The house is equipped with air-conditioning, fireplace, telephone, satellite TV, radio, CD-player, dishwasher, cooker, oven, microwave, fridge, electric kettle, toaster, American coffee machine and a hair dryer. Capanna Olivo has its private access with electronic entrance gate, private parking and private path to the shared pool.

At walking distance there are a family-owned Tuscan Restaurant (bring a torch if you like to walk – as the street is not illuminated), a mini-market and one of the oldest churches of the region.
Just a few miles down the hill there is Certaldo, a picturesque, walled medieval hilltop town. Here you can dine in one of the many local restaurants known for their delicious Tuscan food. In Certaldo the guests may attend music concerts und cultural festivals.
For longer day trips and lovers of the Italian Renaissance, Florence, Volterra, Siena and Pisa are all within one hour driving distance. The estate is surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Renaissance paintings – the breathtaking Renaissance landscapes of Valdelsa, admired in the paintings of Leonardo, Botticelli and Benozzo Gozzoli. Infinite gradations of colours will amaze you at every footstep. You may walk or ride (riding stable 5 km) through endless fields of sunflowers and gravel paths surrounded by rows of cypresses. Here you can immerse yourself in history, studying paintings and frescoes. You can visit the wonderful churches and museums of Florence and Siena, just 20 and 15 miles away.
