Romantic Wedding at Abbazia La Cervara in Portofino – Italian Riviera

Imagine a young and beautiful couple, passionate about love and life and fond of traveling around the world, who care about spending quality time with family and friends: these were Amer and Rama, one of the sweetest couples we have had the privilege to meet. Their paths crossed for the first time in London, they got engaged in Spain where Amer proposed in Formentera, and Italy soon became the preferred setting of their romantic Wedding Day. They explored some Italian areas by the sea but they fell irremediably in love with an ancient Monastery founded in the fourteenth century: La Cervara Abbey in Portofino. La Cervara, with its unique position and stunning views over the sea, its multiple indoors and outdoors areas, and with no restrictions for dancing outdoors offered the right setting for their group of 120 guests coming from Jordan, the US, UK, and Europe.

The weekend started with a Friday welcome dinner at the Imperiale Palace in Santa Margherita, in the private beach pool restaurant by the sea, located straight on the water with beautiful views of the town. Tables under the pergola and on the terraces were softly decorated with touches of pink and fuchsia shades, greens, and romantic candles while torches were lit along the path to the sea. The sunset created a magical atmosphere for the first gathering of all guests.

On Saturday the wedding day started quite early with the preparation of the decors, furniture, lighting, lanterns, candles, stages, a photo booth, platforms, band soundchecks, and more under the supervision of Exclusive Italy Wedding staff. Everything was ready by the time guests started to arrive and we proudly introduced La Cervara Abbey. Guests were very impressed and, after some welcome drinks, the celebrations started with the Introduction of the Bride and Groom, while romantic notes were played by a string quartet.

The first part of the day took place on the enchanting Portofino Terrace and connected Italian Garden. A sit-down dinner was organized in the Gardenia Garden, guests were entertained by a famous Jazz Band with the singer coming from the Amalfi Coast specialized in Frank Sinatra’s repertory.

At the end of dinner, thousands of floating candles were launched in the sea creating an amazing endless starry sky.

Cutting of the cake and after dinner party took place in the large Agrumeto, a large lawn surrounded by flowery avenues, plants leaning against the stone walls of the mountain, and wide views of the whole bay located in the upper part of the property. You can feel suspended between land and sea in this garden at La Cervara, a treasure that cannot be found elsewhere.

Every setting was elegantly decorated with soft antique pinks, white and ivory mix of flowers with a small touch of grey greens. Refined glass vases and candleholders were enriched by this sophisticated palette and a beautiful day of stationery that showed delicate spring flowers in bloom.

Bride and Groom and guests were really passionate about dancing, the whole group danced nonstop till 5 in the morning.

On Sunday the group of guests was invited to gather again at a famous Beach Club in Paraggi where we reserved a large terrace with umbrellas, sunbeds, and tables. Guests needed some relaxation after such an intense weekend.
