Ravello Wedding at Hotel Caruso: Denise and Mario

Ravello Wedding at Hotel Caruso: Denise and Mario

Mario and Denise are a loving couple from New York who chose to get married on the Amalfi Coast of Italy. They met in 2011 and instantly knew they had found the love of their life.

Panorama of the Amalfi CoastThey both love family, travel and adventures, and when they first visited Italy (Mario’s country of origin) together in 2012 they realized that this was the place where they wanted to get married. They wanted to celebrate with the whole family, but a single day of celebration was not enough for them, so they invited about 50 relatives and friends to spend an entire week on the Amalfi Coast of Italy.

Mario and Denise wanted to make each single day in Italy a special day, they were very attentive to every detail. When they contacted us we carefully selected with them the best experiences that the Amalfi Coast has to offer, and organized the following activities for their guests, from the day of arrival to the day of departure one week later.

Day 1: Pizza Dinner

What’s more Italian than pizza? So to start off on the right foot, on the day of their arrival in Italy the guests enjoyed their welcome dinner in a traditional pizzeria in Ravello.

Day 2: Excursion to Capri Island

The second day was dedicated to the wonderful Isle of Capri. The couple and their guests reached the island with a fantastic boat tour in the Bay of Naples, departing from the mainland in the town of Amalfi on three yachts.

A guided tour made them discover the beauties of the centre of Capri, then they reached the small town of Anacapri and had a delicious lunch at Il Riccio Restaurant. This exclusive Beach Club, with its white and blue interiors and its terrace facing the Mediterranean, conveys the deepest essence of Capri.

After a shopping afternoon in the centre of Capri the boats brought the guests back to Amalfi. The guests met later in the main piazza of Ravello to reach the Vecchia Cantina Restaurant where they enjoyed dinner together.

Day 3: Excursion to Pompeii and Wine Tasting

The archaeological ruins of Pompeii are truly unique. This city was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the first century AD, buried under 20 ft of volcanic ash. The city was rediscovered in the 18th century, when archaeologists realized that thanks to this ash layer, the lack of air and moisture had perfectly preserved objects and buildings. After 250 years of excavations, today we can admire the streets and temples of Pompeii, its forum, amphiteatre, and the amazing Roman houses decorated with mosaics and frescoes. This is a spectacular place not to be missed if you are visiting Naples or the Amalfi Coast.

After visiting Pompeii the group travelled to the winery Feudi di San Gregorio, where they had a guided tour in the cellars followed by a lunch in the exclusive restaurant. All the guests received a bottle of the local wine as a gift, with a dedication from the spouses.

In the afternoon they travelled back to Ravello, where dinner was booked for them in the little village of Scala on the hills surrounding Ravello.

Day 4: Wedding Day!

On the morning of their wedding day the bridal couple was greeted by the bluest and most perfect sky, ideal for their outdoor wedding ceremony!

The beautiful gardens called Giardini della Principessa di Piemonte were decorated with a wonderful flower arch and giant stone vases filled with white flowers and greenery, the perfect frame for the stunning seaview from the terrace.

The couple and the guests then went back to the gardens of Hotel Caruso, where the cocktail was prepared for them under the olive trees.

Another area of the garden was ready for the most elegant, romantic, wonderfully decorated wedding dinner on the Amalfi Coast. Golden chiavarina chairs around an U-shaped table decorated with tall compositions of fuchsia orchids and bright red roses and peonies, while the central part of the tables was filled with smaller golden vases, candles and tons of flowers in the same hues. The effect after sunset was amazing!

After the cake cutting the celebration continued on the dancefloor by the pool until midnight, when pizza and other snacks were served to the guests, and then until 1.30 am with soft lounge music.
