Venue description
The Castle of Spessa, dating back to 1200 and majestically dominating the hills of Friuli Eastern boarder, has since that time stood in an area that shows evidence of the Romans. Over the centuries, the castle has been the residence of the noble lords of Friuli, hosting famous historical characters, in particular Giacomo Casanova, who stayed in the castle rooms in 1773. The noble birth and history of this castle are also evident in its private chapel, a privilege reserved for the aristocracy, and still consecrated today.
Weddings at the Castle
This unique and special venue it is a magnificent setting for intimate ceremonies, offering first class and customized organization facilities for weddings, meeting the specific requirements for ceremony in the chapel or park, settings for photographic services, welcoming guests, catering and banqueting. Civil weddings can be held in a nearby marriage hall. Catholic ceremonies are performed in the private chapel that can host up to 20 people. There is also a countryside church only 3 minutes drive from the castle. Symbolic and protestant ceremonies can be held in the Castle gardens.
