Fairytale Ravello Wedding at Villa Cimbrone

Fairytale Ravello Wedding at Villa Cimbrone

Getting married on the Amalfi Coast is a dream for many couples: the jaw-dropping sea views and the exclusive venues.

Brian and Cayla are a young couple from NY, both very dynamic: when they contacted us they already had with very clear ideas about the dream wedding they had in mind: an event planned with the utmost attention to every detail to surprise their 120 guests. To make their dream come true we organized a full wedding weekend in Ravello at Villa Cimbrone.

The weekend started with a cocktail in the main piazza of Ravello, where Bryan and Cayla welcomed all their guests, an informal meeting with Italian finger food, bruschetta, focaccia and cold cuts. The next day the bride and groom and a group of friends woke up really early: 4 am! The Ravello Music Festival organizes each year a fantastic concert at sunrise and they didn’t want to miss it. A fantastic scenery with the orchestra playing outdoors in front of the ocean made those moments truly magical.

Since the couple had secured Villa Cimbrone for several days, on the second day we organized a pool party in the gardens of the Villa. The afternoon continued with a 1-hour boat trip to the charming fishing village of Nerano, where a wonderful dinner was waiting for them at the restaurant La Conca del Sogno. The al fresco dinner was decorated with colorful flowers and the zest of lemons filled the air… lemons served also as place cards, with the names handwritten on paper leaves by our calligrapher. The stationery was inspired by motifs  of the typical maiolica tiles  of Naples.

The next day started under an incredible blue sky: the weather was perfect, and the temperatures very pleasant despite being at the peak of summer. The wonderful ceremony took place at the tea-room of Villa Cimbrone, decorated with natural details in hues of ivory white and pastel pink, mixed with lots of greenery to create an organic and spontaneous style. The aisle was decorated with plants in wooden flower pots.

For the cocktail hour the newlyweds asked us to create different booths, each with a typical Italian corner: one with cheese and cold cuts, one with mozzarella makers, one with Italian aperitivo and one with granita. We placed these booths in the part of the garden that is located under the Belvedere terrace, but we also used the Belvedere so that guests could enjoy the fantastic sea view.

Then the celebration continued in the ancient crypt of Villa Cimbrone, with its incredible Gothic vaults: the top table was a huge, spectacular U-shaped table, surrounded by smaller round tables.

After dinner the party went on outside in the gardens of the Villa, where the band played on an outdoor stage and where beautiful vintage sofas had been spread all around for guest so that they could enjoy the music under the starry sky.
