Amanda and Adrian, wedding in Positano
Positano, June 1st 2012.
I have no idea where the last 4 weeks since getting married & honeymooning have gone! I thought I would write to you to tell you what an absolutely amazing Wedding day we had at the Town Hall in Positano and the celebration meal we had to follow at the Palazzo Murat! Everything on the day went exactly as we hoped it would, including the fact it was a lovely sunny day!!
The whole process was so well organised that we had plenty of time the day before the Wedding to relax on the beach with our children and friends! I’m sure if we were organising a Wedding at home we certainly wouldn’t have been so relaxed or even be able to sunbathe!
The consultation at the hairdressers put me totally at ease that everything would go well on the day. I was very pleased when they suggested I go in to the salon the night prior to the Wedding for my hair to be washed as that meant my hair was beautifully styled for the welcome meal when all our friends and family arrived in Positano. The next day I arrived at the salon again at 10:30 in order for my hair and make up to be completed and my 3 bridesmaids, my mother and sister in law all came along to have there hair styled. We were all extremely pleased with the results and loved the friendly family atmosphere you get at Luisa & Flavia. Thankfully all of the stylists spoke English well enough for us all to be able to say what we wanted doing.
On the eve of the Wedding all of our family and friends enjoyed the meal at La Tagliata! What a fantastic atmosphere, we all had so much fun. It was lovely having lots of different dishes brought out to us for each course. I think everyone ate far more than they meant to as the food was delicious and fun and gave the whole evening a relaxed informal feel which was just what we were hoping for before the formalities of the Wedding day. We have some great memories of different members of our family and friends playing instruments throughout the meal!
It was lovely to meet Giovanna on the day of the Wedding. She is a lovely lady, very friendly and she made sure everyone knew what they were doing. She took care of everyone and made sure that all went to plan and that the guests knew where they were supposed to be at all times. We were very happy that she was our interpreter for the service. The service was lovely on the terrace of the Town Hall. So pretty! There weren’t many dry eyes within our wedding party that afternoon! The violinist added to the romance!
Once we were married we all headed down to the beach where our photographer, Gianni, got some more incredible photos (we have hundreds!) before and during the wonderful 2 hour boat cruise that took us along the Amalfi coast. We had a wonderful time sipping champagne whilst cruising along with such breath taking views!
Finally we headed back to the incredible Hotel Palazzo Murat for cocktails in the courtyard enjoying the sounds of the guitar and mandolin before our reception took place on the terrace of the beautiful suite we were staying in listening to the fabulous Jazz band. The food was excellent and the Wedding cake just wonderful. Hotel Palazzo Murat is an incredible place to celebrate a Wedding. We knew when we stayed there 6 months before that it was exactly what we were looking for. I’m sure we shall spend many anniversaries there in the years to come!
The flowers added to the beauty of the day! My bouquet was so pretty!
I’m sure there are a number of wonderful things I have forgotten to mention but the day was just so perfect that it will be a day for Adrian & I along with all of our guests to remember forever! Thank you Laura for all of your hard work and to everyone else involved in making the day so special!
