Civil weddings in Siena take place at the Palazzo Pubblico, an outstanding Gothic palazzo that has served as Siena's town hall since the 1300s. The palazzo contains the Museo Civico, its walls covered with pre-Renaissance frescoes, including Simone Martini's early 14th century Maestà and Portrait of Guidoriccio da Fogliano. This is a very charming venue for a civil ceremony in Siena, Tuscany. Wedding ceremonies are performed in an impressive hall on the first floor of Palazzo Pubblico. To reach the marriage hall you must pass through stunning halls all covered with frescoes. As you enter the marriage hall you will be amazed by its finest decors and refined period furniture. About civil weddings in Siena
The ceremony in Siena is performed as usual in Italian by the Mayor or a substitute. The ceremony can be personalized with vows, readings and poems. Music recommended: violinist, guitarist or harp. Weddings in Siena are performed from Monday to Friday, either morning or afternoon. With a small extra fee it is also possible to organize a wedding on Saturdays and Sundays.
