Il Borro Tuscany Wedding Soaked in Florals

Il Borro Tuscany Wedding Soaked in Florals

Color us unapologetically infatuated with castle weddings, so when it comes to the long driveway lined with cypresses and perfectly manicured lavender bushes, the equestrian beauties that arrive to greet a couple, or the air bustling with scents of ripening grapes and fresh blooms, we know that a bride and groom who heart Il Borro to exchange their vows are in for a treat.

Surrounded by the Pratomagno sierras, and lush 1750-acre Tuscan countryside the former home of the Ferragamo family had Danielle and Tommaso smitten with its rustic and historic elements, luxurious, modern touches and totally immersive elegance and much like Ferruccio Ferragamo himself liked to say, fall for this “enduring act of faith”.

The wedding weekend began with the couple’s welcome dinner organized in the square of the ancient Borgo connected to the Main Villa by a romantic stone bridge. Within the authentic medieval village perfectly restored to create exclusive suites where guests stayed, the little square in the center of the borgo, next to the church was where the dinner took place. And we can swear by the buffet of appetizers and then a buffet of pizzas done in the wood-fired oven (Literally one of the best pizzas we have ever tasted!).

The wedding ceremony was set in a beautiful large garden, and As the couple envisioned a wedding celebration that would feel twinkle-light cozy and be soaked in lush, colorful blooms, we went massive with florals.

Dianthus, Lisianthus, Sweet Peas, Hypericum, Veronica, Freesia, Garden Roses, Phlox, Protea, Alstroemeria, Hydrangea, Dahlia, Scabiosa, Viburnum, but also Mint, Basil, Thyme and Apricots in palettes ranging from pale pinks, peaches and corals, to blueberry, lilacs and tonal greens, were certain to enthuse our bride and groom who vowed their love under a painterly squared arch decorated with climbing blossoms and opulent greenery.

From the reception’s centerpieces, to the staircase decor and scattered rose heads inside the fountain, and from the cherub statues, on each side of the reception, to the wooden pergola covered with cascading greenery and wisteria, we festooned every niche with fragrant bouquets and spanning installations evoking the couple’s love for everything florescent.

Golden hurricane lanterns, candleholders with “grapefruit” colored pillar candles, glass and gold votives with taper candles, added volume and texture to the entire decor of both the ceremony and the reception area while one of our favorite elements the golden curios of insects complemented the table decor and gave the wedding feast a playful yet elegant flair.

The guests enjoyed their aperitivo in the Italian garden, and dinner was served at the Piazza with an incredible international band playing live until midnight, and, soon after the dinner party was over, until 5 am. We loved watching their tireless dancing moves and went a little bit emotional to see the happy tears on Danielle’s face soon as Bruce Springsteen’s “Jersey Girl” (a special request from the bride’s father) went on. As the bride herself said “This is such a hometown song for us because Bruce is from New Jersey, We are from New Jersey, we all love Jersey Girls, there were a lot of Jersey Girls at the wedding, Michele (Mother of the Bride) was My Jersey Girl, and now Tommaso (the Groom) was marrying a Jersey Girl!”

And that was hardly all! The day after the wedding brunch was served in the Tuscan Bistrot and lounge area by the pool and we couldn’t be happier to read what our bride had to trust us with. Here’s a small part of Danielle’s kind words to us.

“The easiest wedding to plan! I cannot thank Exclusive Italy Weddings enough for the easiest most stress-free wedding planning experience. Martina and the whole team handled everything so professionally and introduced us to the best vendors in the business. On the wedding day, I didn’t have to worry about ANYTHING! I just enjoyed the most magical night I’ve ever had. Everything was done perfectly and ran smoothly. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of women to help me with the most important weekend of mine and my husband’s lives!”

That in our books spells utter bliss! See it all through the lens of Lisa Poggi (welcome dinner) and The Cablook Fotolab (wedding day).
