Medieval Emperor's Castle in the Florentine countryside

On the hilly area in the South of the historical city of Florence, approx 40km from Pisa airport. This is one of the untouched and picturesque parts of Tuscany.

Venue description
The fortified Emperor's Castle has been the noble residence of several Popes and Kings. It is set on top of a hill dominating the surrounding valley. The style of this Castle cannot be considered of the Renaissance, but instead it has a more classic style with a rectangular shape and fortified enclosure. Originally this castle has been a place where nobles or politics refugee, in fact there is a well inside the Castle that was a secret way to escape. So many stories can be told about this beautiful Castle! Today the castle, a part from being the amazing setting for a wedding, is a farmhouse that produces its own delicious wine and olive oil.

Wedding ceremony
Civil ceremonies can be celebrated in the Red Hall inside the Castle. Symbolic ceremonies can take place indoors or outdoors according to your preferences and weather conditions. Catholic ceremonies are organized in nearby churches where an English speaking priest is available.

Wedding banquets
We selected this beautiful Castle for the long experience they have in hosting wedding ceremonies and banquets. Every wedding at this castle can have its own unique colors, atmosphere and character. In the centre of this castle there is a wide courtyard and a Lodge which are the settings we recommend for summer events of max 150 guests. Inside the castle there is a beautiful Banquet Hall, the most important hall of the castle suitable to max 100 guests. Plus there is an annexed room for max 40 guests that can be used for smaller wedding receptions.

Cuisine
The Castle's Chef and the Sommelier will put together personalized wedding menus for your banquet. Castle cellars offer the best Tuscan wines! Private wine tastings and cooking courses can be organized at the Castle.

Music entertainment
Life music and dancing are allowed till 1pm. Small fee applied to go till 2am.

Accommodation
Not available at the Castle. Self-catered apartments are located approx 3km from the Castle.
