Tuscany Wedding at Villa Vistarenni

Tuscany Wedding at Villa Vistarenni

Weddings in the countryside of Tuscany never cease to amaze for the incredible panoramas of gentle rolling hills covered with olive groves and vineyards. Magnificent villas nestled among the hills provide stunning venues for unforgettable country chic weddings in Italy.

Jennifer and Didier are a lovely US couple, they both love travelling and after the proposal they almost immediately decided for a destination wedding. Didier’s home country is Belgium, but since it rains a lot there, the couple started thinking of a Tuscany wedding instead. Italy has warm weather and little rain throughout all summer and the beginning of fall: while August days can be really hot, September is milder and its golden light creates a special, magical atmosphere. No wonder that September is, together with June, the favourite month for weddings in Italy!

Villa Vistarenni on the sunny hills of Chianti, only 40 minutes’ drive from Siena, surrounded by a panorama of woods and vineyards, immediately sounded the best option for this couple. A Villa wedding in Tuscany is ideal for couples who want to share their celebration with friends and family in an intimate and relaxing setting, and enjoy the views of Tuscany with an outdoor ceremony and a garden wedding reception. When I suggested this Villa the couple agreed without ever seeing it in person!

They were already legally married in the US, this allowed to organize a symbolic ceremony in the park of the villa, with a spectacular arch made of flowers, greenery, tulle and feathers and country chic decorations for the chairs. The officiant was a close friend of the couple who conducted the ceremony both in English and French, so that both families could feel part of the event.

This is how Jennifer had envisioned her wedding reception and how we brought her vision to life:

I wanted the wedding to have a really romantic/Tuscan feel. Long farmhouse tables with floral garlands and lots of candles were key. Along with shades of ivory, I wanted to work in a dusky blue and some hints of marsala. Laura worked closely with the floral designer to bring the look together. We emailed frequently, trading photos back and forth until the look was exactly what I wanted. On the day of the wedding, I couldn’t believe how beautiful everything turned out! It was more than I expected. Laura called the look “country chic” and that is exactly what she achieved.

Another request came from the groom: Didier wanted a roasted pig for the wedding  banquet, and we arranged a traditional spit roasted pig that contributed to the rustic atmosphere. The spouses say it also tasted delicious!

At dusk the wedding reception was illuminated by hundreds of string lights creating an enchanted, fairy-tale atmosphere. The traditional Italian wedding cake with cream and fresh berries was prepared in front of the guests. After the romantic first dance of the bridal couple the celebration continued with a dj that kept everybody dancing well into the night.
